Francisco Sanchis Cortés makes the portrait of Ainhoa Arteta
VIII Benicàssim Opera Festival
On August 7, 2016, at the VIII Benicàssim Opera Festival, thanks to our dealer Marta García Salas, we shared with the soprano Ainhoa Arteta and the pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre their magnificent performance. At the end of the concert, the soprano was presented with her portrait, which is part of the collection "Music for an Exhibition" made by the artist Francisco Sanchis Cortés our "Gold Medal Forum". This exhibition aims to represent the history of the music through painting.
Francisco Sanchis Cortés confesses that his greatest inspiration comes when he hears the voice of Ainhoa Arteta while she paints. He thus manages to express and transmit multiple ideas, sensations, emotions and feelings that surprise the viewer in a unique way. The artist considers the soprano the "Lady of Honor" of his paintings.
Ainhoa Arteta is one of the most important singers on the current Spanish operatic scene and the one who has achieved the greatest recognition. After winning competitions such as the “Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions” and the “International de Voix d'Opera Plácido Domingo”, she started a brilliant international career in different theaters (Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper, Washington Opera, Houston, S. Francisco, Teatro San Carlos, Arena di Verona, Mexico, Deutsche Oper, among others), performing operas such as La Traviata, La Bohème, Romeo et Juliette, Fausto, Manon, La Rondine, Turandot ...
